Post subject:  Suggestions?

This thread is for suggestions for the client. Please note that the following have been received, many times:

(1) Download bandwidth limiting.
(2) Caching .torrent files.
(3) Only downloading certain files from a multi-file torrent.

I've been looking into implementing all of these features.

Hi mate.

Have a suggestion, but it does not really deal with a new feature in the client (program)

I am not 100% sure, but haven't seen any "changes" notes on your website. I there is, i really missed it :)

For me anyway it would be very nice to read what changes/fixes that has been done.
U can type for and example:

* Includes all changes that is in Orginal Bittorrent "Core"
* Fixed a bug in bla bla bla
* Typo correction blablabla

If it now are any other changes then just "putting in" the bittorrent "core" into the nice gui :)

Is this to much extra work/time consuming for u to have maybe?

maybe include a manifest file in the package so the gui
will look xp-style?

Looks like I need to put in a whole separate forum with suggestions. Multiple torrent handling with a single client is planned for the future, and this should also help control memory use. No manifest is included because the default manifest masks progress bar color changes, I don't know how to build a manifest where that looks pretty but doesn't overwrite the color, and one where overlay for the bar is removed doesn't really look that much more attractive. If someone wants to make a custom manifest, please feel free...

Post subject:  Xtra Advanced features

Hi,

I have a suggestion for the advanced part of your GUI..

Could you make it possible to sort on IP or Completed Percentage?

It would be very helpful for people to see friends (if you know their IP?s) & to see if the torrent-file possibly has more seeds in the near future (minutes, hours), to be more certain that it will be completed?

Thanx for reading and making this Xellent upgrade tool for all Torrent users!!

Greetings,

Statistics features would be nice. Especially when the client would remember the share rating from a resuming download...

Post subject:  Add an open button!

A simple but really useful button: an "open file" or "open dir" that would appear when the download is finished.

The button could open explorer.exe to show the downloaded directory, or open the downloaded file with it's default app if the torrent contained only one file.

I dont know if Shadows Client is also coded in Python, but if it is, then it works under Mac and Linux, because Python Programms don't get compiled, but interpreted.

TheSHAD0W what do you think of being able to permanently ban peers based on their IP, client or share-ratio?
IMHO it would be nice to be able to ban clients that download a 5GB torrent and have a share-ratio of 0.0
