Hi, I'm a noob to torrents, and I was just wondering how traceable the file transfer is. If the files I am planning to transfer using are legal/legitimate, I do not wish for anyone monitoring the traffic to and from my network to be identified. I realize the data packets will have source and destination IP, but how identifiable is the file information?

Thanks in advance, and please keep the flames to a minimum.

Since the Data is in peices it'll be hard to see what you are downloading. But then again all the have to do is see the tracker you are connected to. To find out what you are indeed downloading.

like WAveOfFire said... the traffic is neither encrypted nor does the bittorrent protocol offer any protection of your id.

the data you send/get to/from the tracker can be 'read' and analyzed just as the data you send/get to/from other peers.
