Pinnacle instant copy works great with little loss of quality going from 2 sided to single sided DVD.

Only works on non copy protected files but DVD Decrypter is available.

Cheers

dvd shrink is one of the best utils I've seen. You reauthor the dvd you want to copy so you can take off stuff you don't want like some of the extras, or foreign language soundtracks or subtitles etc. If that still doesn't get you down on to a single layered dvd then you can reduce the quality a little until it does. When I play back stuff that's been reduced by 10-20% it's still fantastic quality for me...

You don't need Nero, DVD Shrink will let you burn using DVD Decrypter :) Both are free to download.
