is there any way for me to download a specific file from a batch torrent without downloading the rest of the other files?

I don't have bittornado open now, but don't you just click on "details", and select what files you want from there? Also, I think you might want to use incremental file creation, so the files you don't want doesen't take up too much space.

Feel free to correct me on the file allocation bit anyone - maybe it's better to allocate files in the background to avoid fragmentation? I don't know how 'smart' that system is, and I've never used this feature in bittornado. From what I've seen, BitComet has the easiest system of downloading specific files in multi-file torrents.
