I noticed BitComet supports NAT traversal, I know that it basically allows peers to connect if they are both behind NAT but I was wondering...

1. What ratio of success does it have? I assume only a certain proportion of routers allow it.

2. Does it have any disadvantages like it generates large amounts of bandwidth to set up or requires more processing power?

2. How exactly does it work?

3. Has shadow ever considered implementing it?

If they're doing it the way it looks like they're doing it.
A.) It should work great.
B.) It's completey against the Bittorrent protocal spec.
