Post subject:  way to change file names?

I'm wondering if, before I begin downloading, there's a way in Bit Tornado to rename individual files within a torrent - I've encountered quite a few torrents in which the uploader names files something incompatible with Windows XP (ie with colons, quotation marks, question marks, slashes, etc in them) and Bit Tornado rejects the torrent with a "bad file path" error. Is there any way to rename?

Also (unrelated question) ... does Bit Tornado have a limit on the number of files permitted to be downloaded in one torrent? I recently came upon a massive torrent (about 40 music albums) and it wouldn't even load up for me ...

Thanks in advance for any answers/advice anyone can provide!

It's the fault of people using incorrect encoding when creating the torrents. UTF-8 is the standard encoding for strings within a torrent (or other bencoded dictionary).
Renaming them prior to downloading in multifile torrents will cause the torrent to be no longer valid.

Check the advanced preferences for proper settings and the way to properly limit the number of open files..

Someone posted this message about one of the particular torrents I am unable to DL:

So is this file-naming issue specific to Bit Tornado? Or does Azureus allow for a rename or fix before download begins?

Thanks again.

Azureus allows you to choose which encoding to use that isn't utf-8

It's still the fault of the torrent makers not complying with standards. It's just that some clients are more forgiving of bad names.
