I recently discovered this site https://grc.com/x/portprobe=6881 It probes your ports (in this case, port 6881) to see if its open or closed. (By the by, as far as I can tell, the other areas of Shields UP!! [if you wander around on the site a bit] is very useful for security purposes and such.) (And also, sorry if the site was already mentioned.)

Problem for me is that it says my port is closed, even though I've already configured my router (Linksys BEFSRU31) and windows XP firewall and forwarded ports 6881-6889 and disabled UPnP. Shouldn't the port be open? (I have no other firewalls or anything, and I don't believe I'm on a proxy server.) Plus, I always fail http://btfaq.com/natcheck.pl and I always have a yellow light on BitTornado (latest version). I have a cable modem, but I'm getting a <10 kB/sec download speed and a 20 kB/sec upload speed.

Oddly, sometimes my IP appears as 24.47.108.215 (WAN IP address) and sometimes as 192.168.1.1 (LAN IP address). Can somebody please tell me the difference between the two?

Thanks in advance, and if anybody can please tell me any other possible way, besides the ones I've mentioned already, of speeding up downloads (I'll try anything!), it'll be greatly appreciated.
