Quick BT question....Im not new to BT, but this is the first time I have used BT with a router.....

I have a cpu and my roomie has a CPU...

I know how to config the ports on both the router and XP...

BT ports are 6881-6889...so we are splittiing them up between our cpu'ers..

i have mine set up for 6881,82,83,84...

and my roomies set up at 85,86,87,88,89...

the curious thing i notice is that when I click to look at the leecheers(bt.etree), my port wil say 6881(as i would expect), but what i didnt expect is his port to also say 6881.It should say 6885...im a little confused...also when we restart our cpu's, at startup his is firewalled, then we reapply the netgear router settings and the firewall goes away, but i still dont think his port should be the same as mine, should it?

plz email me at phishrules@hotmail.com if you have any insights of setting up BT with a router....

I get great speeds through a usb port, his ethernet port is lagging....hmm..

First, you should ensure that you have static LAN IPs, so that the port forwarding is always applied to the correct computer.

Also check bittornado prefs on both computers to use only the splitted ranges of ports, one starts with 6881, the other with 6885.

The port bittornado currently uses is shown in the advanced window, then check your status at http://btfaq.com/natcheck.pl.
