You've specified your IP address in the "Local IP" field as probably 192.168.X.X (where X can be any number).

Any address starting with 192.168 is invalid on the internet and the connection tester is refusing to test you until you remove this. Other bad numbers are 10.X.X.X, 169.254.X.X and 172.16.X.X through 172.31.X.X

Ok here is my scenario-

I have a hardware firewall and ALSO a router(linksys) with NAT. I had to manually enter my WAN ip in the advaned prefs, then I opened the 6881-6889 ports on BOTH my firewall AND router(which is acting as a switch/wireless AP) My problem was that I forwarded the ports to the 192.168.1.1 ip of my PC and not the 192.168.168.1 forward that was being assigned to my router from my firewalllll.....I finally entered this NAT ip and received the response....accepted ip override with perfect score, not all trackers will acknowledge this...BOOM...

everything is GREEN!

hopes this helps some ppl out there.

Those who have routers with a DMZ Host feature place your computer IP address there along with your port forwarding and you will get your green light. Note: this exposes that particular computer to the internet.

I am on a connection provided by Southwest Missouri State University. All of my torrents light green, but I get abysmal download rates: 10k max down and 5k max up, where once I was getting 700k down and 150k up. I currently have the port range set to the 10000-60000 range it defaulted to.
The test torrent gives me a perfect score.

I figured out how to get BT to turn Green!

First I setup my Port Forwarding in my Wireless Router (Netgear MR814v2). I used ports 6881-6999 and 28001-28005.

Second, setup your ports in the windows firewall.

Even though I set up port forwarding in my router, I didn’t get any green light at that point. What did the trick for me was disabling my SPI Firewall and enabled the Respond to Ping on Internet Port. You can find the configuration settings under the WAN setup section.

DL rate is 58 Kb/s (still slow I think)

Two posts up: This has been mentioned before. Read up.

Above post: Check that your computer's IP address is remaining static. It might be changing, which invalidates the old settings.
