I know Bittorrent doesn't use UDP by default. It uses TCP ports 6881 or higher. My question is mainly for Shadow. Is it possible to make bittorrent or your client use certain UDP ports?

My ISP won't forward TCP ports for me. They did however forward some UDP ports that X-link uses. Or maybe an alterative would be an external program that tunnels all "bittorrent" using ports to the UDP ports I have forwarded. Just an idea.

So Shadow, possible?

/me prays

P.S. Yes I have a horrible ISP. And no I can't get another. Unless I want ISDN.

Thanks in advance.

There's been some discussion over using UDP in a future revamp of the protocol. Along with simplifying some firewalling problems, it also has the potential of increasing transfer efficiency. There are a lot of scary details, however, and keeping nice reliable secure connections via UDP is a difficult task. If anyone is a real expert at UDP I'd like to hear from them.

Thanks for the reply. It seems as though I'm living a life where Internet is not of common reach.
