No prizes for guessing what my problem is (same as everyone else's here), but I still cant get rid of the yellow light, even after I make my computer the DMZ server on my Netgear DG824M router.
Here's what the router config says about DMZ:
Quote:
Specifying a Default DMZ Server allows you to set up a computer or server that is available to anyone on the Internet for services that you haven't defined. There are security issues with doing this, so only do this if you'll willing to risk open access. If you do not assign a Default DMZ Server, the gateway discards any undefined service request.
Does this effectively disable the firewall for my PC?
When I click on "Advanced", all the connections are L, there are no R connections at all, even though I pass the btfaq.com test.
Any suggestions? I sometimes need a proxy server to access some websites, can BT be configured to use a proxy server?
