if its the ISP's fault, then why didnt i experience any problems when i was under win98 ??

and also i have other friends who are using the same ISP, but they didnt experience any problems either...

Some isp's are running out of ip ranges so they are opening up previously bloked ranges. This will prevent peers connecting to you if you get on a bad range. I have this problem and have to keep re-booting my router until i get on the right range.

i frequently dl anime and i can tell u that most anime sites fixed the transparent proxy prob, hence d/l from scarywater and animetorrents and gotwoot doesn't have the yellow light prob. D/l from most other places like the torrents on suprnova or overclocked remixs freq gives me the yellow light, so i stopped d/l from there. animetorrents had that prob too, but they seem to have fixed it.

In regard to the sometimes yellow, I too get it (though infrequently now, dunno what has changed lol). Often I just close then reopen the torrent and it sorts itself out *shrugs*. Natcheck always fails for me (transparent proxy) but putting my REAL IP into BT sorted out the slow d/ls (once again that was an off and on situation, sometimes files come in at 52 others at 4-7 kbps).

The answer is, sometimes transparent proxies stick the real IP address in the submitted header information. We've recently puzzled it out and made it so trackers can sniff that info.

I have downloaded make torrent and went to the view/edit torrent tab, opened up my problem torrents and noticed this.

This are the types of torrents that give me the yellow light
http://tracker.scarywater.net:443/announce

and these are cool
http://tracker.boxtorrents.com:6969/
http://suteki.animeconnection.net/tracker.php/announce

Regarding the editing of the torrent to 6969, what does that literally mean?

changing from http://tracker.scarywater.net:443/announce

to http://tracker.scarywater.net:6969/announce ?

I did that and the torrent could not connect at all.

Please advice and thanks in advance.

Port 443 is normally used for https (SSL), so either your ISP does not allow this, you have set up your firewall to block it or another application is already using port 443.

I have been having problems with some tracker and after many experiments, it appears to be problem with NAT.

regardless you are behind router or software firewall, when the tracker server DISABLE NAT CEHCKING, you will probably get a yellow light.

to solve this issue, just go to preference, advance, key in your WAN IP into the LOCAL IP field.
your WAN IP is something that not started with 192.168.xxx.x , it should look like this 68.xxx.xxx.xxx or 210.xxx.xxx.xxx

save changes and restart BT. you will see remote connection in short period.

for those who are behind router, go to your router config page. eg:192.168.2.1, 192.168.0.1, etc
check your WAN IP, put it into the BT Local IP field

for those who has dynamic IP, remember to remove BT local IP, leave it blank, before you close BT as your next assigned dynamic IP will probably be different.

good luck

I think I know what the problem may be or at least mine
The DHCP changed my IP range from 200.63.xxx.x to 200.69.xxx.x
What happens is that 200.69.xxx.x is under some kind of proxy called (PROXY1.TELCONET.NET) and 200.63.xxx.x is not behind any
Tbits detect me as this IP 200.93.192.137 (PROXY1.TELCONET.NET) N.B. This IP address is shared with 1 other user!
And thats not mine..not even my range
Mine is 200.69.xxx.x
This proxy thing is giving me a lot of problems with Trackers sometimes I get a YELLOW light and no download :(

If anyone knows how to fix this please help me out!
I wouldnt like to contact my IP

Put your current WAN IP in the "Local IP" field in the advanced preferences.

This should show you the IP of your WAN connection.

Well, the only way i know for you to now if you have a fire wall up is by using Aol 9.0 optimized it will show to you at the sign on screen if you have a firewall running and some other stuff.
