I stumbled upon a site that explains how to forward ports for any router or firewall. May help others as it has helped me.

Very good, soldier! Thanks!

Also for reference, BT uses the TCP sub-protocol, ports 6881+ by default (6881-6889 will probably work for you).

Many routers do non allow you to forward multiple ports at one time. If you have one of these routers try using the port triggering section of your router. The trigger port you should use for BT is 6969. Enter 6881-6999 in the incoming ports section. I should really take the time out to make a bittorrent guide on portforward.com. Perhaps in the next couple of days I will.

By "restart", you mean just close the window and reopen the program, right?

i have had problems with BT being very slow using my router

will port forwarding make it faster to download with BT?

i have used both port forwarding and port triggering, can i use both of these?

it has got rid of my yellow light tho, now its green and easier on my eyes :)

A couple more questions if any1s willing to answer them:

my DCHP server is enabled, should this be enabled?

and my UPnP is disabled, all this talk of DCHP and UPnP in the other threads has got my head in a spin

1 more question: is the total speed the total speed of my connection or the total speed of that download?

if it is the total speed of the download can some1 tell me wot my download speed should be if its running at 150, 200 etc

Generic setup:

A Static IP address on your LAN for the PC that you are using

TCP ports 6881-6XXX INBOUND Forwarded to this IP address in your Firewall Rules.

Your Tornado Client set to use ports 6881-6XXX that you have forwarded

Turn OFF your software firewall (especially winXP firewall) until you learn how to use it.

Set your Tornado client fairly, ie. Don't say you have a 56K connection when you're actually on a T1 just to throttle your sharing. If you're on 512K DSL with 256 Upstream you can afford 20KB sharing upstream easily.

There are tons of tutorials on how to do these things posted on this forum and around the net, case in point is the excellent site posted at the top of this thread by Soldier for most routers.

CLOUD LINK

From what I read forwarding will most probably increase your DL speed
