 Post subject: zipped file problem
PostPosted: Sat May 01, 2004 7:52 pm
I'm still having problems with zipped files. I selected triple check info under advanced options but every zipped file I have down loaded says that it has corrupt files and/or headers. Even some zipped file I DL through bit tornado from before I rebuilt my PC will not upzip. I have tried rar and winzip and neither work. Files are in .rar format.

Please help if you know what is causing this.

well your problem could be your actual modem or line problems, you might be losing packets "along the way" to your computer. what kind of connection do you have and do you experience and other download problems besides bit-torrent transfers?? 8)

I heard of at least one torrent that was created with a bad RAR file. BT verifies data as it downloads, and even without double- or triple-checking it should never give you corrupt data. Rerunning the torrent and saving it over the original file is a good test; if it starts as a seed, the file was complete. You say the files were RARs? Try getting the latest version of WinRAR.
