I'm at university in Canada and i am constantly getting the yelllow light, i have disabled my firewall and still i can't manage to get any speed at all, anyone have any suggestions?

You are maybe not running a firewall... but i think your uni does

same problem here, and its annoying the crap out of me.. my building shares a massive connection which comes in in fiber, but to supply each room we've been put on a network, and ive portscanned to find that all except smtp are closed.

so im trickling at 4k/s..

Universities have Network firewalls as well as packet scaning. I doubt you'll be able to get around them.
