I am having problems with my BitTornado v0.3.6 in the most unusually way. It is acting as if I am behind a firewall, yet there is not firewall installed on my computer. I do have Windows XP (SP1) installed, but I have doubled checked to see if "Internet Connection Firewall" was turned off and it is. I also have Linksys Router (BEFSR41). I am not sure but I don't think this model has any firewall features built into, but I could be wrong.

I have gone to Shields Up it says that all my ports are stealth except for port 113. I would expect without any firewall installed or turned on, that all my ports should be open or exposed. So this makes me believe that there is something not right.

I guess what I am asking is, how do I unstealth my ports on this computer.

Yes that Router does have a Firewall, luckily.
http://www.linksys.com/support/support.asp?spid=1

Just look in your manual and it will tell you how to open Ports and open 6881-6889 for Bit Torrent.
There are even guides on this very forum for Linksys...

A Firewall is essential, i cant stress just how much so. If you dont have one you are wide open to attack. For example, in the past half hour my Firewall has already blocked attempted attacks with the NetBus Trojan horse and Back Orifice 2000 Trojan horse as well as tons of Port Scans.
Turning off a Firewall to use something like Bit Torrent is idiotic, but some ppl do do it believe it or not.

I fing it disturbing that port 113 of ALL THINGS isn't stealthed!

I'd expect all or nothing.

Better read up on what port 113 might be used for...

Did you allow remote administration in the router's settings?
That's almost allowing someone to remotely hack into your router.

Various antivirus software also includes lightweight software firewalls in them that can also cause BitTornado to be firewalled. Also, many trojans and viruses act as firewalls -- as they filter internet traffic going in and out for their own nefarious ends.
