| Post subject: | Sharing wierless internett-port forwarding?? |
We are using a netgear wireless router. Both, me and my friend, has a green light on bittornado, and the downloading seems to work without any problems. I have opended the slots 6881 - 6930 and he has 6931-6999. Will this reduce our download speed?? |

Whenever I read 'wireless router', I always assume that is at least a bottleneck. Many wireless routers cannot manage an unbroken connection at 5 Mbps over a distance of 25+ feet. Even those that can often cannot maintain the 40+ different connections at once common for just a SINGLE busy Torrent! Running torrents on separate computers will probably be at least a little slower than running multiple torrents on the same "tweaked" Win XP box. (Tweaked=allowed to have more than 10 half-open connections per application, BitTornado not firewalled, etc.) |
