I'm a total newb with computers and I cannot download any torrents because either the download is .00001 kb/s or it says cannot connect.

I need a step-by-step guide on what to do after I get to my router's ip address. Can someone help me?

SMC 7004AWBR manual

Page 23: configure a virtual server with port 6881, server IP is the IP of the computer that runs bittornado, enable it.
If you want more instances of bittornado running simultanously, you have to repeat the previous steps for more ports, like 6882, 6883 and so on. Check if you have the same ports configured in bittornado.

You can access the router through a web browser, enter http://192.168.123.254 (that's the default setting).

There is another manual for Part No. 750.5435, the first was for Part No. 750.5312. I don't know which one is correct for you, but the configuration is nearly the same.

If you have that second part no., the IP of the router should be http://192.168.2.1. The virtual server setup is described at page 4-17 (51). IP is the same (see first post), private and public ports are 6881 (6882, 6883, ...), type is TCP.

If that SMC router is anything like the 7004ABR and 7004VBR, be sure to enable its firewall in its configuration and give its admin page a strong password since certain models of SMC routers shipped with remote administration enabled by default and passwordless on their port 1900.
