Topic kinda says it all. I have enough security on my comp... ad-aware SE pro, spybot, nod32, etc etc.

But do I really need a firewall on the router? My router is a DI-624. If there is a way to disable it or hack into the router to make it act like a cable modem in a way. Just forward everything without blocking anything? Is this possible and safe?

Yes, it is very easy to do, all you need to do is set your computer to be the router's DMZ. Then everything recieved by the router automatically gets forwarded to your computer.
