Not sure if this has already been suggested here or elsewhere on this site, but I thought it may help someone out there.

I've been getting really poor download speeds, yellow lights and sometmes not even downloading at all - even though BitTornado says it's connected to 20+ seeds. I've been trying to figure a way around it, opening port ranges (which is a good start anyway) and trying different clients (even though I prefer BitTornado).

Well as of now I am downloading at full speed with green lights all the way. I have disabled Network Address Translation (NAT) in my router configuration and that has completely fixed the problems I was having.

Now be aware that NAT is actually a pretty good security feature, as it disguises your internal network structure. It's a common core feature of most hardware firewalls, so turning off this "IP Masquerading" function will compromise the security through your router.

But if you want to try this out to fix your yellow yellow light problems, I suggest you read a little about NAT first - unless you already know all about NAT of course:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_address_translation

Hope this helps.

Merry Christmas
