Hi there

all my machines are behind an linux firewall (ipcop 1.4) with iptables.
there is one rule that drops tcp packets without proper SYN-Handshake.
after i started to load a torrent, my log was filling up with "NEW not SYN"-Messages.
for testing i switched this drop-rule off but still logged them
and watched ips/client with this behavior. in one case it was a Shadow
(there were others too).
after Shadow connects to a tracker and receives a list of ip's with the same torrent,
does it fire up a NEW connection to these ip's immediately?
or is it doing a proper handshake first?
on one hand i dont want to exclude people from dl stuff from me,
on the other hand i am concernd about safety issues.
any hint would be nice.
