Hey, i've been trying to get BT working since I moved, and as far as I know I don't see anyway to do it, but I figured i'd ask incase anyone has any ideas. Ok let me explain my situation, my ISP has bought a T1 line, which he in turn sells to his many clients (its just a small personal business) he has 1 IP from telus (who he buys the line from) and that IP is given to a router, which then in turn, NATs all his clients off. He refuses to forward ports to me because he feels its a security concern, and thus my delemia, I get horible speeds, that is even if I can connect to a tracker, which commonly fails...
any ideas?

Find another ISP?

If the admin of the line refuses to forward some ports for you, there is not much you can do about the extra speed you may be missing due to your inability to accept connections from others who also didn't forward their ports.

Well, unless someone comes up with a method of doing firewall to firewall transfers with an unfirewalled host coordinating the initial communication between 2 firewalled peers using UDP packets sent to each other on the same port to temporarily open a pinhole through their firewall (for at most 30 seconds depending on the firewall or NAT setup), I am not sure there is anything else that could be done.
