Hi, I just want to check which ports I should be opening...

In my bittorrent preferences it says Port Range is 6881-6999, and the tracker I'm using at the moment has the address http://depthstrike.com:81/

Does this mean I should open 6881, or 81? Just not sure if it's the number after the tracker address or the addresses in preferences (Oh, and if it's the number after the tracker, should I change my preferences to that port too?)

Got it to work through experimentation, if anyone else is interested it seems like either the port in the tracker address doesn't matter, or you add a '68' to it - Opening 6881 did the trick while 81 didn't ; )

The port range under BT's preferences refers to the ports on your machine.

The port listed on the tracker refers to the port on the trackers machine.

As you've figure out, you only have to forward the port range that you have set in BT's preferences.
