 Post subject: new.. need some help

okay, i dled the latest bittornado. But i am then unsure what to do next. I am using a linksys router: BEFSR41, and my ip is set as 192.168.1.100 . Wanna know what to do exactly so that i can get good speeds for my dling. Thanks a lot!!! :D

The thing with BitTorrent is you have almost no control over the download rate you'll get - it depends on the torrent's peer downloaders at that time. If the peers have good connection and/or there's a lot of people downloading the stuff, you'll most probably get a good D/L speed. To ensure that, make sure you yourself are uploading a good amount of data (which BitTorrent does automatically unless you change the settings) by keeping the torrent running as long as possible, to create new peers. If you have a firewall, make sure it allows free access through the ports 6881-6889 (or higher if you wish). Otherwise other clients won't be able to connect to you. Remember, BitTorrent is all about sharing!
