oh and a quick reminder:

torrentspy is the one i've been told by my friend.
and there were two types of torrent spy site and i've been cheated(i reckon) by the first one i tried.

go to REDACTED

well see?
simple as that.
you people should of like gave out the 'specific link' since there's no way we could know what is good sites and shit unless we're god or something.

I installed bit torrent but I cant seem to download anything. I found a site for the .torrent files and everything, but when I open them in the downloader, nothing happens. nothing starts to download, nothing dose anything. How do I start downloading the .torrent file that I have with the program?

What is the difference between Bit Torrent & other FTP programs like Limewire, BearShare & Sharaza.
I need to download a copy of Linus Mandrake 10.1 and Xandros 3.0.
I am told that BT can do this
While I am experienced in computers. Torrents are new to me.
I find that the program "Bit Tornado" is hard to understand and learn to use. I also find that I am not alone. Is their another program I can use instead of "Bit Tornado" ?
I am downloading from:
http://www.xandros.com/products/home/de ... nload.html
but do not actually get a file dispite that BT says it is downloading.
I have a linksys router/cable modem, XP Pro sp2 without a software firewall.

Anyone got any ideas. I need theseO/S files bad.

BitTornado is all you need to do this. Download the .torrent file from that site and open it with BitTornado. Then you wait for a number of minutes or hours for the download to complete. It sounds like you've done that, but you say that you "do not actually get a file." What do you mean? Are you getting errors?

Limewire, BearShare and Shareaza are not FTP programs. They're peer-to-peer download programs like BT. With FTP you download from a single server, with peer-to-peer you download from many other users like yourself.

Go here for more details.

first off you dont create a torrent file you download it...

and you cant just say "i want a torrent" you have to pick a site depending on what you want. if you want apps go to sharelive, if you want tv shows go to tvtorrents.net. i just google for a show name and add torrent at the end of the query and it works great.

as for not getting a file make sure you know where you save the file at the beginning of the download. saving it to the desktop is the best.

and if you have bad dnld speeds google for a bittorrent download accelerator. mine works great.

and lastly if you dont no what the hell youre doing or what a torrent is why do you have bit tornado in the first place????????

Have finally worked it out... I think
Must say that the majority of instructions weren't too good except the guy/girl who gave the anime link combined with the guy who specified torrentspy.

Here goes:

1. Download bit tornado
2. Run it. It will ask for a torrent file. Don't worry close it down.
3. Do a google search for a "torrent" or go to site like [b]REDACTED[/b[
4. Search for the thing you want- eg song title
5. Click the button that says "download torrent"
6. A pop up will appear specifying what you are about to download
7. Accept this
8. Another pop up will then ask where you want to put your file
9. Browse to the folder you want on your pc and press ok - remember the location!
10. You should be downloading now. A pop up with progress window appears.
