I am having this problem with BitTornado: I have tried forwarding all types of port configurations in Sygate, but they make no difference to the download speed - at first the yellow light was staying yellow, but now I receive the green light quite frequently; and the client has no problem searching/finding sources and seeds.

But I keep getting this intermittent speed(s): the download slowly crawls up to 4k/b (I know - I'm on 56k! :(), but keeps constantly lowering back down to 3, then to 2, and back up again. I have no idea if it is the port settings (but I doubt it, as I can download) that are prohibiting my download speed, or some other unknown entity.

I have no idea what the problem is. But it's becoming insufferable.

Hopefully someone can help me.

Thanks.

this sounds to me like excessive modem contention at your ISP, do other downloads (FTP and the like) sustain at 4~5K?
