I can't seem to install..... I tried doing emerge bittorando but I get an error: emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "bittorando" So I downloaded the gzip file and extracted the files....but now I'm a little lost as what to do now..... Can someone help? (I don't have mozilla or anything on my gentoo box, just links) Thanks! |

emerge ah, I keep forgetting how amazing that command is um....actually, I'm using my gentoo box as a file server....do I need to install firefox on it? I don't even have a Graphical interface for it... |

qpkg -l bittornado now. if i could figure out how to get the gui going. post here if you find it before me. |

Do you need a gui in order to use bit tornado to download? (P.S. I wanna install bit tornado to download stuff, not to be a seeder) I could probably find you the command for GUI |

dude. if your running it command type this in a terminal as normal user not root. btdownloadgui.py filename.torrent replace filename with actual filename |

I use gentoo to and i have instal it thatks to the moust amazing linux comand "emerge" i figure out that whith "btdownloadgui.py" I could download via gui. I would like to know if ther is eny general comand that do everithing in once. I used to azureus And i also would like to know how and if I can use bittornado remotly. I am reali looking at some easy bitorrent client that i could manage at distance from univercity i yould like to manage my downloads at home. Thx for your help |

Code: emerge screen ssh /etc/init.d/sshd start -on windows download putty (google -> putty) login with your user and pass -on unix Code: ssh -l YOUR.USERNAME your.machine.address after login type Code: screen -S bt1 now u have screen session opened and u can run a bittornado in it, to disconnect from this session press CTRL - A and D to connect again to this session type Code: screen -r bt1 screen session stays alive when you disconnect from it so bittornado will run even if your are not logged into your machine this "bt1" is just an example you an call your session whatever you like you can start as many screen sessions as you like to view a list of all your screen sessions type Code: screen -ls
