i just recently installed service pack 2 and now my downloads kind of seem slower.
I don't know if it's just my imagination or if it's for real. I turned my firewall off and got it on cable/dsl fast settings, which is the right setting for me.

so my question is does SP 2 make downloads go slower?

SP2 limits the amount of connection attempts per second, for swarming downloads some people claim this significantly affects their speed. I don't notice that much of a difference though.

If you want to patch this then I suggest you take a look at http://www.lvllord.de/ which will change the default value of 10 to something else (default 50).
