Post subject:  Tell Tornado about wxpython ?

Managed to install wxpython yesterday, but how do i tell system or bittornado that it is installed now? or, atleast assuming that it's installed (?)

The installation of wxWidgets is finished. On certain
platforms (e.g. Linux) you'll now have to run ldconfig
if you installed a shared library and also modify the
LD_LIBRARY_PATH (or equivalent) environment variable.

wxWidgets comes with no guarantees and doesn't claim
to be suitable for any purpose.

Read the wxWidgets Licence on licencing conditions.

that would make it installed, right? whats the step after? using original bittorrent client is getting on my nerves ;)

thx

/ge

I would say that you should get the rpm versions of wxGTK and wxPython.
wxGTK-2.4.2-1.i386.rpm
wxGTK-devel-2.4.2-1.i386.rpm
wxGTK-gl-2.4.2-1.i386.rpm
wxGTK-static-2.4.2-1.i386.rpm
wxPython2.6-devel-gtk2-ansi-2.6.1.0-fc2_py2.3.i386.rpm
wxPython2.6-gtk2-ansi-2.6.1.0-fc2_py2.3.i386.rpm
wxPython-common-gtk2-ansi-2.6.1.0-fc2_py2.3.i386.rpm
I have FC3 as well and have the programme working but have now run into a permission problem

Right got mine working now.
Should have said rpm's make things easier so if there are rpm's for what you want then probly good to use them, they also keep track of package dependency.
wxGTK is needed to run wxPython and the rpm's will help BitTornado find wxPython.

Opening a torrent seems to lock up the command line, so I have resulted to a command line for each torrent

You don't need the wxGTK files , but you do need the wxPython "ansi" files don't get fooled by the unicode ones
