OK - ADSL Connection.
I networked a mac and a PC, both with static IP allocated, No Probs.
I Gave BIT TORNADO and BTDOWNLOAD GUI access and server rights in Zone alarm.
I attempted to forward ports 10000-10004 to the PC running Tornado - i think this was successful but not sure as I could not find instructions on line for my conexant ar302 modem. (old model adsl modem I am using because my adsl modem supplied by isp has port forwarding options removed)

I am currently testing a torrent file, taken from a top 100 list so it would not be "dead"

My Status Light is green.

I am DL at 3 to 5 kB/s
I am UL at 3 to 4 kB/s - does this mean my port forwarding was successful?
share rating 0.8 :-| red.
connected to 21 peers -( total speed 186kB/s)
connected to 10 seeds; also seeing 4,999 distributed copies.
settings for "automatic"

Does this suggest all is correct? Why am my up and downloads all under 10 kb/s? - this is telling me it will take 100 hours for a 1gig file!

What else do I have to adjust? Or is it all good. I am new to torrent.

update - 4 hours later
i have downloaded 2 small (20Mb and 500kb) files and left the window open -
they have a happy rate of 1.2 and 1.4.
I am still downloading two 1Gb plus files at the same time and they are varying between 10 and 20 kB/s DL and Uploading at 0 kB/s - share ratings of .127 and .069.

Am I doing anything wrong? this seems to be a reasonable DL speed, but I don't know why they are not uploading much.

Still, a 4Gb file is going to take me 96 hours.........
