i have successfully downloaded bit tornado and was able to find a site with a torrent file. but when i click the torrent file, windows media player pops up with this error: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The file is either corrupt or the Player does not support the format you are trying to play."

Hi. Try to save the torrent on your hdd and run it from there. I had this problem too but when I run the torrent local from my hdd it works fine.

the file or somthing you were missingis called a codec. the file is named Xvid.codec . Its a program attachment that tells the window media player (in my case) how to handle the file which is a mpeg4 type. I too came to this forum seeking answers, except I found the solution thanks to the gspot program ( http://gspot.headbands.com thanks dude for that insight) . after finding that my xvid codec was missing I went to to google searched it found it installed it from the web sight http://files.divx-digest.com/software/c ... nstall.exe Hope this helps others better than "nevermind" peace out.

actually it sounds more like the browser is sending the .torrent file to WMP instead of bittornado.
