Traditionally, the bittorrent port-range is 6881-6889, but there's strong indications that ISP's are blocking these, so going random seems like a good idea - i'm gonna try it myself, just as soon as this torrent finishes downloading...
...All you need to make sure of is that whatever range you choose (5 digits is advisable), you forward the same ports if you have a NAT-enabled modem/router (see http://www.portforward.com if you don't know what that is).
