Hi,

I'm wondering if it's possible to download only certain selected files from a torrent, instead of all of them? And if so, how do you do it?

Thanks!

BitTornado does. Check the details screen.
BitComet doesn't play by the rules.

Keep in mind, you're throwing off piece distribution by skipping files.

it is possible to download certain file but it will be slower and is not recommended since not everyone has the same piece so it's gonna take a lot longer in most cases unless the torrent is heavily seeded and there are many peers with unique copies

Is it possible to download only certain files with the textmode version of Bittornado?

I use the command line interface and find it great (it runs on a remote machine and it is very practical to be able to control it over ssh), but I somehow get the feeling that most new features are being implemented in the GUI. Am I wrong?

Cheers!

Try the "priority" command-line option. You can see a list of all options by running the command-line program without arguments.

In my experience, new features are available in the command-line client, they're just easier to use in the GUI (of course).
