I have created a guide on how to use BitTornado on Linux/Unix (might work on OS X CLI).

Post subject:  Instructions for gui?

HI. I was wondering if you have instructions on how to do it for the GUI version? The command line is nice but would prefer to use GUI.

Post subject:  Bittornado under X

How configure Bittornado to work under X:

- Start X-windows session and start your Browser e.g. Mozilla
- enter the MIME Settings:
Mozilla -- Edit -- Preferences -- Navigator -- helper applications
make a new MIME Type:
MIME Type application/x-bittorrent
Description: what ever you want
Extension: torrent
...
open with: "point-to-btdownload-gui"

Thats it. Now klick on the torrent download link, and soon the bittornado gui should open.

State your distro and i'll help out 8)

EDIT:

These steps should work for most GNU/Linux users.

you'll need python and wxpython.

After that it's very simple, just copy the .py family of btdownloadgui.py and company to /usr/bin

then if your using mozilla or firefox and click on a .torrent tell it to open it. and fill in the Open with field with "btdownloadgui.py" and it should work fine :D

Can someone post a mirror? I'd like to try Bit Tornado out on the CLI. I don't have a GUI on my unix box, and my windoze box has slow bandwidth.
Maybe I should be using another bittorent client for CLI? Could someone recommend one if that is not bit tornado's forte'?

I'm using Firefox, and it has neither navigator nor helper applications. It has plug-ins, but no way I see to put bittorrent up as one. How do I get bittornado running in GUI on a Fedora Core/Firefox setup?

And before anyone makes any comments, yes, I apparently am this dumb.

attempted to set it up. Everything says it's right (Open with btdownloadgui.py), but the only thing that happens is that is shows the file finished downloading. No gui, no bandwidth being used, nothing else.
