hi,
the following is not a major problem i have but a guideline for those who have problems with their download speed. the size was a bit to large for the forums so i uploaded it here.
if you have any suggestions about it just write them into this thread.

Hi :-)

In your doc, you give an example of a 768/128 line, and from that, came up with dl of 96kbyte/s and upload 16kbytes/s. How did you get to the dl and ul speeds? 80% of 128 is 102, not 16... so I'm a little at sea here.

I just did a quick test at dslreports, and got 2394/239.
Is that what you meant by checking your max upload and download rates?

Generally what I like to do is run two torrents at a time, as fast as possible.

Thanks for your advice!
Terrapin

We have the ability to set the maximum number of uploads based on the preset we choose (i.e. cable/dsl slow). What are the guidelines for this setting, and how does that interact with the other guidelines you provided in your document?

Thanks again,
Terrapin

He's converting kiloBITS (128) to kiloBYTES (16).

yes
and you have to forget about the 80% rule - but this I already state in the text. 128KBit=16KByte (as mentioned above)

and there is no rule to maximise downloads with your line. just keep to the guideline in the text and divide the upload you get by two. about the line-settings: you can choose whatever you want to that provides the desired upload scale

That makes sense now, folks.
Thanks for a great product; I'm looking forward to the updated client.

From what I understand, you're planning on implementing a way to automate the whole upload cap issue so that we don't need to worry our heads about it. Lovely.

Thanks again,
Terrapin
