I know for a fact that Torrentbits requires you to be both registered and online on the board (i.e. logon to the board) in order to able to access the tracker. I've seen some torrents on Suprnova that use the TB tracker, so if you're not on that board, the torrent will give you the error you described. Furthermore, your IP(-range) could be included in a peerguardian-list or something like it, blocking your access to the tracker. And last but not least, it's possible you've been banned from a tracker for leeching and/or hit-n-running.

Hope this helps :/

I've had the exact same problem...

What is peerguardian... I don't think I would have been banned, I always left my client open for a least a few hours after the download finished (it used to work for me)

And what is this TB tracker that I might have to log into that you speak of???
