No spyware, no problems.

I have noticed that people who don't follow the pulse of the world tend to get into trouble quite easily. They also tend to point their trembling accusing fingers in all possible directions.

A typical case:

Dork:My computer is fucked because of (program name here)!
Me:what programs you have recently installed?
Dork:None, I haven't changed a thing!
Me:Hmm what is this?
Dork:It's supposed to DL quiker or something!
Me:Where did you get it?
Dork:Don't remember cause it was last week, there was a link in some page.
Me:have you considered to install some protections on your puuter, you really should!
Dork: No they just eat a lot of resurses, I have heard that your puuter can jam or something!
Me:have you ever updated your Os?
Dork: I have no Os in my puuter, you think I'm an idiot!!!!

Nature needs Dorks, why else would nature have created them :)

Simple f**king solution to all this crap.

D/l an MD5 or CRC32 check program and see what it reports for YOUR .exe Tracknor and report it here.

If it's not the same as everyone else's d/l then you've been spoofed.

If it is the same and the majority DON'T have any adware etc. then your system is obviously borked with trojans or whatever.

FYI the MD5 check for Shad0w's BitTornado-0.2.0-w32install.exe is:

c2ac16bb0946578d5551a0d9678e48e6

HTH?

CRC 32 check for the same .exe is:

e80663a6 (2,940,783 bytes)

Some of this stuff could be useful for anyone - There's a lot of windows vulnerabilities not covered and fixed in windows update - some are in security patches hidden on other parts of the microsoft webpage, some aren't. I'd recommend you grab and run all these:

http://www.autopatcher.com
http://www.grc.com/unpnp/unpnp.htm
http://www.grc.com/dcom/
http://www.grc.com/stm/shootthemessenger.htm

Those are pretty much all windows XP specific, and I actually still use W98 myself. On any windows OS, it's also a good idea to use a custom hosts file:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
You may wish to comment out (with the # symbol) the entries under Macromedia, or it'll keep you from being able to update shockwave (in addition to blocking many flash ads - there's always a tradeoff).
So what's it do? Blocks most ads (including many popups!), and stops spyware being auto-loaded from malicious webpages, all without any software! You can just edit the file if you want to add or remove entries.

On some systems, it takes a while to block stuff with a custom hosts file - eg it acts like it's connecting to the file, then times out, just like any dead image. If this happens to you, use a text editor to find and replace 127.0.0.1
with:
0.0.0.0
in all lines BELOW:
127.0.0.1 localhost
(You don't want to change this line! Leave it alone!)

And finally, use the Restricted security zone in IE to block certain malicious sites:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/restricted.htm

I recently ran a friend through all this. Until then, he had spyware suddenly reappearing after completely removing it. I hope this is of use to someone.

i counter my last post about Java Sucks (should try before speeking)

Azureus is the best made java progam i have ever used the other count less ones have been poor it does not lock up slow down not use 150% cpu (over stateing of coes) or use tones of ram (like others)

-----------------------------------------------------------
par grc is good but will get to many peeps panoyed

its mostly N00bs looking at a web site and clicking yes on every thing i know 3 of my friends that are like that (some times i wish i had not given them my phone number)

1234
1 router
2 firewall and anti virus (NIS 2004 works for me (let the fames start)
3 ad-aware PRO (run ad-awatch)
4 Don't Use out look (any MS email client for that matter)
-----------------------------------------------------------
to couter the fame (there will be one) i cant be ased with sygate or any other, the firewall in norton works for me and why do i need to say yes on common know programs/games when it will do it for me (it has 90% of what other firewall progs have got any way and my router will sort out most incomming of the stuff any way)

-------------------
err this program has no SPYware in it

It seems pretty clear Tiraknor is just some loser peddling Azureus on a (much better) competitors forum.

Nice try wuss, lucky enough none of us are so stupid as to not download a great prog just cause you made up some sh*t!

I got the 180 adware crap from BitTornado too... so it IS a serious issue, adaware cleaned it several times but it keeps coming back when i run BitTornado

Send the installer to the Ad-Aware and Spybot people suggesting that you think this package has some adware/spyware that goes undetected.

The only thing I can think of is that the place you've downloaded bittornado isn't legitimate. Make sure you get it from degreez.net and it looks like bittornado.com is legitimate as well.

As for spyware that's already installed and can't be uninstalled, it sounds like you're screwed until one of the spyware removal places can contain it.

While I could never be sure, I'm almost certain that the legitimate bittornado packages don't have any spyware/adware in them.

Actually, you should just use a friend's computer to go to the porn sites. Since it's already screwed up, probably.

Then you don't have to worry, either, about the FBI coming after you for the 100gb of "Young Annie Screws the Pooch.avi" that you were downloading, and you can schluff off the sexual harassment charges your IP received (since they can be sued now, apparently) from your IRC adventures.

Yeah, go use Azureus. It might be a well written java app.... but it is still a a java app. Java is the most unefficient, bloated, steaming pile of dog crap language ever invented. No matter how welll written the app is... it is still java.

Had to reformat bc it messed up IE files badly (Now i have XP woohoo) but it kept comming back b4 i formatted. But yes, it happened to me too. Maybe it had something to do with shadows experimental. Now im kinda scared to redownload this ugh. lol I downloaded the "stable" one. Which one did u get?

There is no spyware/adware in bittornado!
You can download the source and look for yourself and remember to download only from the official site.

I aren't getting any adware either. Maybe you downloaded it from another site, which had modified the installer somehow. :?
