lately when i used bit torrent(not tornado) i would find that my computer would crash about an hour into the d/l. i didnt put 2+2 together until it was too late. after it crashed(crashed as in it rebooted my computer during d/l) my comp 4-5 times...my computer started crashing on it's own!
then a few days ago i was watching a video file on it and it rebooted, it got to the login screen and rebooted again...then it made it to windows startup screen...then whack...rebooted again. The final time it got the first windows startup screen(i run Windows 2000) and it started booting up again and when it got to the first windows startup screen a really really distorted message appeared...letters in the wrong place, random text all over the screen...but i could make out some of it. i cant remember exactly but it said something like "system files missing, windows..." cant remember or makeout the rest.

now when i boot my comp up no screen appears...just a black screen with the blinking typing symbol. and it doesnt make the "beep" sound like it should...ya know after you turn your comp on it makes a beep a couple seconds after.

has anyone ever heard of anything like this happening before? i think i'm going to have to take it to a PC repair shop, i really really really hope they dont have to wipe the hd...i have about 60 gigs of files that aren't backed up....plz tell me there's hope.

Frustrated, Sounds to me like you need to adjust your limit of peer connections.

Mine works great , never a problem. For those w/ Windows service pack 2 I heard that it limits network conections. When i first downloaded it it messed my system up bad. I got rid of it now everything works great. over 500kps dl and 300kps up .

I dont know what happen to all the people that work with BitTornado an say that it can crash your pc. I´ve been using BitTornado 0.3.8, and it runs perfect, now I´m downloading GUN for PC, NFS Underground 2 and Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30, all at the same time, with a total size of 6031,99 MB, it means 6 Gb, so I think it´s a respectable size. Now, my computer is like if I had booted it a few minutes ago, running smoothly. So, I dont know, if you have problems try the BitTornado version I´m using now, bye. PD: Im using the option "flush data to disk every 5 mins" in advanced. Windows XP Home Intel 2.80 Ghz 512 MB RAM Maxtor Hard Disk 160 GB

I have a problem. I got a virus not to long ago and now I cant use the newest version of bit tornado. I made sure the virus is completly gone, but it must have taken something with it. Now I get the BSOD (blue screen of death). I got rid of the virus but can figure out why I get the bsod. I can use the older versions of bit tornado. But I like the features the newest one offer. Before the virus, everything worked great. No crashing No slow connections. And I download torrent which are over 20 gigs. Usually I have 7 torrents going at any one time. Just weird if anyone could give any advice on what to do next that would be great. Im thinking about repairing my windows with the disc. any other solutions would be good. Im a computer tech. But this has me and everyone I asked confused.
