I have no problems with getting the show, but after I am done, I click finish, everything goes away, then I can't shut down my computer because the bittorrent btgui process stays in memory and hangs up.

I am running a brand new notebook Mobile P4 with XP Home.

either btdownloadgui is still finishing closing TCP connections; try monitoring that by typing netstat -sno -p tcp or edit your registry to make XP not wait for Apps to close when you shut down:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\desktop]
"AutoEndTasks"="1"
"HungAppTimeout"="5000"
"WaitToKillAppTimeout"="4000"
"WaitToKillServiceTimeout"="4000"

this make your XP close faster anyways :)
