Hi,

I was dowmloading with 80k from a lot of peers (100+). My provider forces me to disconnect/reconnect every 24 hours. So I get a new IP everytime this happens. Usually I don't do anything manually since my router handles the reconnection.
After reconnecting I only had 27 peers and dl-speed did not increase 15k for more than 8 hours. Why? Where did all the other peers go?

Thanx

This is related to a tracker security issue. BitTornado has an update to the protocol that helps solve the problem, but the tracker must support it as well. (This is the "key" parameter in the announce.)

Is it?
I think it's not.
Due to the IPA change he lost all his connections and he just got 27 peers back from a single announce.

Yes, but the tracker will continue sending other peers to his *old* IP until it expires and he reannounces, so he will be effectively firewalled until then. This is a serious security issue; otherwise, one could masquerade as other peers and knock everyone off the tracker, DoS-ing the torrent.

The latest code includes a very simple randomly-generated password to validate future connections and lets the tracker switch IPs when the client does.
