Hey everyone, just needed some help here...

after i use the bittorrent client for awhile, my computer would just restart... so i checked the faqs and got new ethernet drivers and changed the max connection to 40...

now, the computer doesn't restart, but my internet just shuts down every once in awhile.. but only when im downloading something via bittorrent.

after it shuts down, i can disable and enable my Network Connection and the downloads will work fine again for awhile.. until it happens again...

anyone else experiencing this?

im running this on an older computer P3 500Mhz; 384Megs of RAM, 15GB HD

-THANX

i did as the faq said for "BitTorrent keeps crashing/freezing!" and it stopped crashing and freezing.. but instead, it disconnects my internet.

it works after i disable-enable the network connection but then it disconnects after awhile again..

Is this problem in the FAQ too? i don't see any questions that describe my problem though...

You may need new firmware for your Cable/DSL modem and/or router. Router firmware is usually available, modem firmware may not be... You may need to bug your broadband provider to update the firmware.

i used tio have that prob too... It's due to your memory writing in the same dump file has another one..

to solve this porb it s easy: just move your memory stick into another socket.... and/or you eternet card into another socket...
that's it!

My internet also keeps on disconnecting about every 10-20 min. I have the latest drivers and firmware for my linksys router. I tried bittorrent version 3.4.1 but still have the same problem. I am using a laptop and am not that computer savy and so was wondering if there is any other solution. :(

Have you checked Windows log-off settings which by default logs off the internet every 10-20 minutes. You must go into Network Connections, right click on your connection and highlight 'properties' then go to 'options' and make sure that your internet connection is set to 'never' where asked how long idle time before the connection is to be closed.

Hope this helps or enlightens

Dave
