Post subject: Large files don't resume

Every time I resume a large file, I get an IOError 13. Something about permissions and access is denied. Then it stops and doesn't do anything.

This may happen if Windows Explorer is accessing the incomplete file, trying to obtain statistics or generate a thumbnail. You should disable the Windows indexing service and avoid opening folders containing incomplete files, or switch to Windows classic folders which don't show this sort of information.

This might be why Windows Explorer always crashes on me when I'm using BT and accessing folders that have incomplete torrents downloading to them. Hmmm, I'll definitely look into that after my current torrent finishes and my fear of ruining the last week of downloading time passes by. :)

FAT16 file system only support a single file of size 2GB at max
FAT32 system support a single file of size 4GB at max

Prove:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/choosing_between_ntfs_fat_and_fat32.mspx

I'm assuming no one will still be usig FAT16 becuase FAT16 only support harddrive of 2GB or less. So most of you should be using either FAT32 or NTFS. If the file you want to download is over 4GB, you have to use NTFS file system. Otherwise, windows will refuse to continue saving the file after it reaches the limit and will give you error message.

For those wishing to go the extra mile to find what process is really locking up a file, grab a freeware comand line utility "handle" by sysinternals its for windows based systems

www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/handle.shtml

ex. handle <file name> or fragment of name

output will list process names and PIDs that have the given file open - possibly a read only lock that cause errors when bittorent tries to open a file for read/write.
