>63?

Try limiting the number of connections down to 60 or less.

Thanks DWknight, I did that with diffrent limiting values at the pref zone but still does not work. It freezs at peers+seeds ~ 60-63.

Any demands in the source code on HD caching or paging or rpm confinement there?

I need the solution to speed it up. Thank you for your supports.

Same problem here since 5.8.8. 5.8.7 was OK. The problem also happens with ABC client (based on Shadow). The solution on the FAQ doesn't work.

Windows XP SP1
Athlon XP 1700+
512 RAM DDR333
Cable connection through a router (6881 TCP Port opened)

until there's a solution, why don't you just downgrade to 5.8.7 which doesn't seem to have this problem...

its your network drivers thats crashing the bittorrent program
it will hang when there are too many peers connected
since 60 doesnt work, try 40

like the faq says

Post subject:  Yes same problem

Yes finally the mystery may be solved

I start a download and it may run fine for 4 mins or 15 hours and then it stops the connection is fine but the download stops and the time in BT stops.

I have tried Buying a new modem had a usb now have a D-link DSL-500.
Have also tried dozens of other clients all the same prob. Except Shareaza but it just gets crapy speeds and would take 20 times longer to download.

Never noticed the 63 thing before until I saw this post but yes my current lockup has 57 peers and 6 seeds. Will try limiting the connections and report back.

Don't remember when it started but it just did it did work fine once upon a time.

PS Experimental bar this problem rocks best by far.

A seed is another peer. 57+6 = 63.

Yes, drop your max peer connections.

I think it's caused by bad anti-virus or firewall software.
What have you guys installed?
