thats what the mini.dmp says :

Event ID: 1001
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000d1 (0x00000000, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0xbc232912).

but on the bluescreen it says
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL or so and a file named "afd.sys" is involved...

i use win2000 pro sp4 with all patches installed as os,
my "daily bsod" startet after your bittornado 020 was installed.
about once a day or two day the machine hangs.

 so, my question is: did you change something from latest stable 5.8.11 (which i used without any problems) to bittornado, that can cause this wierd problem.
i didnt install or update any other program, besides my virus scanner(which is f-prot).
so, i hope someone can help me with this :D

Something is crashing your TCP/IP stack.
Did you try to revert back to version 5.8.11 ?

The crash can also be caused by to many connections/traffic, buggy network drivers or a firewall.

You can limit the max number of peer connections within bittornado.
Update all drivers related to internet access (nic, modem).
If you have a firewall you might try to disable or change it.

There were also a bug in afd.sys with a pre sp3 version, so check if it's up-to-date.

with 5.8.11 i got the same bsod, now i limited the connection to 100, but i never had this problem at all(when setting was unlimited)

afd.sys is 5.0.2195.6687, which is sp4 (or hotfixed after sp4, i dunno if windowsupdate updated this file)

drivers are all up to date.....so now  i hate this problem

You may try disabling all not needed programs that are running in the background, including anti-virus and other stuff.
Also check your memory with http://www.memtest86.com/ .

These look like dupes, since the same files are incremented to 5.0.2195.6824, but the dumps are different. But likely this will resolve your issue.

BEWARE. I do not recommend ANYONE install an update hosted on a Geocities page. Use at your own risk!

what i did was this:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... -us;142641

i changed the registry settings recommended on this page
( :!: only for afd.sys)
but i still got my daily bsod
even with the 5.8.11 client (NEVER had this problem before)

so i changed the max peer connections from "unlimited" to "60"

now the box is runnig for 3 day without any problems..... :D

i hope i got this problem fixed !
and plz DONT download something hosted as THESHAD0W said!
even if u think u have the best virusscanner in the world ! :P

It's a legit hotfix. I just didn't really want to host a file posted in a public forum on my site at home. I wasn't even thinking that geocities would be viewed as a suspect site. I PM'ed Shad0w a way to confirm my legitimacy, if he so desires. Or you can PM me directly (or email stephen (at) tigerdojo dot com) and I can provide the same info for you. This is scheduled to be included in Win2k SP5 or you can call Microsoft directly at 1-800-936-4900 and request the hotfix for either of the KB articles that I referenced in my earlier post. No big deal either way for me. I was just trying to help you get past your bsod.

you are right ! and thank you for the files !

sorry for some misunderstanding, the files stemy posted weren´t infected (i hope so :D nah j/k)

it is only a general warning for the "unexperienced" user´s not to download anything they can get their hands on :)
