You have to be kidding? BitTornado is not a media/video client.

Ask for help in media playback forums.

The BitTornado forums are NOT media playback forums.

I occasional passby the forums here since I use bit tornado for everything. I am going to have to say that this person is an idiot.

That is all.

Couldnt you use windows media player? What type of file is this "dvd rip"?

Windows media player should be able to play most video files.

WMP 10 will play DVDs if you have the codec.

dvdrip only refers to the fact the file was ripped FROM a dvd, it does not imply that the file is in a dvd compatible format.

Usually a DVDRip comes in a couple of flavours - DIVX/XVID and can be watched in a media player like WMP (assuming you have the correct codecs) or ISO format that must be burned to a DVD (using Nero or DVD Decryptor or some other burning software) before being watched. Take a look at the file extension of what you downloaded. If it's an AVI, odds are it's a DIVX/XVID file - do some web hunting for codecs should be easy to find. If it's an iso and you don't have a burner on that PC get a program like MagicISO to extract the files from the iso file and then you should be able to watch them with powerdvd.
