I was using a mod of Shadow's client that autosaved .torrent files whenever they were opened into a "My Torrents" folder.

I found it very useful, especially because I didn't have to go through the extra steps of right clicking, save target as..., etc. I could just click the torrent on the webpage and if I ever needed to restart I could just find it on my hard drive without having to go through those save steps at the beginning or without having to navigate to wherever I fould it in the first place.

I'd go through the source and do it myself, but anything beyond "Hello World" and I'm stuck.

He stopped development on his, but the source is still available if you want to see how he did it (its at the very bottom of the page)

He has some more nice feature in his client, including the click on a column and list in order by that column.
