Alright, yeah I know I could switch to uTorrent, Bitcomet, or Azureus. But I run in a unix shell, and my trackers dont allow Bitcomet, and Azureus is the only one that can run in Linux. Therefore I beg/plead for you to enable PEX encryption in the next build of Bitornado. IT has done wonders for my friends that are traffic shapped as well, but my dilema is that the protocol doesnt currently work for Bitornado.

Heres the Poll

actually utorrent runs in linux just fine under the newest version of crossoveroffice. just may require a few cxoffice config changes.

what information would you like crossoveroffice is a control panel for winex with a supported windows software list that can be installed.
although utorrent is not on this list, it can be installed thru crossoveroffice and run with no problems, it installed fine for me and worx fine for me.

though a few of my friends have said they have had to edit configs to get it to use the network interface for example if they had a wireless connection and it was eth1 instead of eth0.

i'm really not sure what info ya want utorrent 1.5 and crossoveroffice5 are what i'm using. Oh and my linux distro is Slackware Linux 10.2 on a 2 eyar old dell inspiron 8600 series latop.

I prefer BitTornado's Python approach. I don't run any JAVA program on my Linux server, which rules out Azureus. I'm certainly not going to run any Windows emulation for uTorrent.

Hopefully BT will support PHE encryption soon.

'PEX' = Peer exchange, right?
Encryption = Hiding the protocol

The way I'm reading it, you're mixing up concepts.

You're right. It's "Message Stream Encription", aka PHE. PEX may still be required though, as described in the Wiki:

http://azureus.aelitis.com/wiki/index.p ... Encryption

"Azureus tries to avoid unnecessary non-crypto connections through obfuscation-header aware Peer Exchanges, advanced messaging handshakes and Distributed tracker announces."[/i]

I thought PEX = Peer Exchange Encrytion, although I may be incorrect. Either way I really want the protocol implemented into Bitornado Linux and Windows, once thats done I think users will finally be able to get full speeds no mater what ISP they have.
