I recently got a new isp, Verison DSL when I moved and reinstalled windows. I am currently running service pack 2. When I attempt to download a torrent I get the red indicator and can not connect to any peers. It goes black for a second then red. I am connected directly to my dsl modem, and have windows firewall turned off. I receive no error message it simply does not work. Currently all settings are default although I have tried messing with most of them. I have used torrents for the better part of a year with little problem, so while I am realitivley proficient I have had few problems which would have caused me to learn more. Please help I have been at this for several days, my back teeth are floating and I have little hair left! There is little information out there for people not behind a router or firewall. From what I can tell it should work with little problems.

Probably it's your ISP blocking you. Did you try encryption?
