Post subject: Got Bad File Info
PostPosted: Wed Apr 21, 2004 2:16 pm
Ok, so the client was working fine up til yesterday. Now, when I try to start new downloads, it gives a 'got bad file info' error. However, it works ok for torrent files I downloaded earlier, I only have a problem with new files that I've got. I know the files are ok, other people I have talked to downloaded just fine with them. Anyone know what's going on?

Same here. Tried a reinstall, no change. It sporadically works though - I clicked on the file every fifteen minutes or so and after a while the download miraculously starts.

Did you save the .torrent file to harddisk before starting bittorrent?

I just installed it and I keep getting the error. Happens on both versions of the client. I save the torrents to hard disk first and then run them.

Do you get the error when saving this torrent to disk and opening it?

A certain w4r3z web site, which shall remain nameless, is sending out corrupt torrent data. Clear your browser cache and redownload the .torrent.
